OKTA’s installations are connected with the refinery in Thessaloniki via pipeline that is 213 km long. This investment worth over 100 million dollars was put into operation in 2002 in order to transfer crude oil. At the beginning of 2013, due to halt of the refinery, the pipeline ceased operations. Major investment projects were initiated for conversion of the existing crude-oil pipeline into product pipeline in order to transfer diesel directly to the installations of OKTA. The pipeline is ready to be put in operations, after the project of cleaning has been completed and the operation license has been published by the competent Authorities in 2023.
The pipeline is managed by company VARDAX, a subsidiary of EL.P.ET Balkaniki S.A., with headquarters in Thessaloniki and offices at the premises of OKTA AD - Skopje.
