The processing plants for primary refining of crude oil commenced regular operations. The following year, during a ceremonial session, the Refinery Council declared the completion of the overall construction of the facilities and installations of the refinery.
A decision was adopted by which the company "EL.P.ET. - BALKANIKE, SOCIETE ANONYME PETROLEUM TRADING AND INVESTMENT", a member of Hellenic Petroleum Group, became a strategic investor in OKTA.
The same year, in accordance with the Law on Trading Associations, an adjustment was made of the name of the company in OKTA Crude Oil Refinery Shareholding Company-Skopje, or OKTA AD-Skopje.
The modernly-equipped laboratory of OKTA, received work accreditation by the State Institute for Accreditation, thus, becoming the first accredited laboratory in the country for examination of the quality of oil derivatives that are being placed on the market in the country and the region.
In January 2013 the refinery stopped its production process. The company started a project to transform the inflexible and inefficient heavy industry in a dynamic and customer-oriented, logistics and trading company, providing uninterrupted and reliable supply of fuel to the country.
The company gained a Certificate of Integrated Management System according to the standards EN ISO 9001:2008, EN ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007.
OKTA’s long-term contribution to the campaign "Chance for Life" was recognized by receiving the International award for Best socially responsible practice.
ОKTA’s campaign, "I WATCH OUT" for raising public awareness about the need for greater traffic safety, was declared the best national socially responsible practice in the category of community investment in large companies in 2017, at the annual event organized by the Coordinating body for corporate social responsibility and the Ministry of Economy.
