OKTA Donates Equipment for Fighting Fires in Hard-to-Reach Areas

Skopje, 01.08.2024 – As part of its ongoing collaboration with firefighting units across the country, OKTA has provided special equipment necessary for extinguishing fires in inaccessible areas. This equipment was donated today to the territorial firefighting unit of Sveti Nikole, which is currently dealing with one of the most active and largest fires that have hit our country in the past few days.

The donated equipment consists of special firefighting tools - metal brooms and backpack sprayers - used by firefighters to prevent the spread and extinguish fires in particularly inaccessible areas where firefighting vehicles and other machinery cannot operate.

"As always, during these fires, as a company and of course as firefighters, we are ready to provide all our support in terms of equipment, expertise, and direct engagement in fighting the fires. From our experience, we know what needs our colleagues from the Sveti Nikole firefighting unit have, especially when extinguishing fires in inaccessible areas, and therefore we selflessly offered our help with equipment that will help them more easily deal with the current fire and any such challenges in the future," stated the commander of OKTA's firefighting unit, Vlatko Pankovski, during the handover of part of the donated equipment to the Sveti Nikole firefighting unit.
