Bicycles from OKTA for the Children in SOS Children’s Villages

(Skopje, 17.11.2016) - The company OKTA together with its employees donated bicycles and helmets for the children from SOS Children’s Villages. The bicycles themselves were assembled by the employees during a team building weekend, by which each employee contributed to the humanitarian activity organized by the company. The bicycles were decorated with sincere messages and were then donated by the employees themselves to the children in SOS Children’s Villages. The donation was accepted with great joy by organizing an interesting small competition with the bicycles in the premises of the village.

"This team activity, which is a humanitarian one at the same time, united OKTA’s employees in a single goal. The employees with great excitement and enthusiasm embraced the idea and made a significant contribution for successful realization of the donation. The initiative brought great satisfaction to both sides. Now the children from SOS Children's Villages will have the opportunity to experience the euphoria and adventure that comes with cycling”, said Marija Stavreva, Manager of corporate social responsibility and communications in OKTA.

According to SOS Children’s Villages, this type of initiatives is welcomed anytime.

We are trying to provide our children with everything that represents home and what it feels like to be at home. That is the essence of the organization itself and the stimulation of those family values as well as the organization of such activities where children will feel part of that atmosphere is welcomed and helpful in every aspect. OKTA provides an excellent example of what teamwork means and we are delighted that this initiative goes far beyond a simple donation," said Juliana Gapo, Director of SOS Children’s Villages.

OKTA’s employees regularly initiate and participate in humanitarian activities. Recently, by giving away their daily meal, they donated money for families and citizens who are in a difficult economic situation, and they also organize blood donation activities three times a year.
