OKTA Continues Implementation of the "I watch out" Platform for Greater Road Safety

Skopje, 26.09.2024 – OKTA continues to implement its long-term socially responsible platform "I WATCH OUT" as a clear indicator of the company's commitment to raising public awareness for greater traffic safety. This year's activities planned under the platform will be carried out in cooperation with the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety (RSBSP), as part of a new Memorandum of Cooperation that extends OKTA's partnership with this institution for the next three years.

"Traffic safety remains one of the key pillars of OKTA's strategy for corporate social responsibility. Through the 'I WATCH OUT' platform, we have been continuously implementing various activities for the support and education of all traffic participants for seven years now, aiming to promote greater collective awareness and individual responsibility. The success of this mission significantly relies on partnerships with other stakeholders, including the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety, as creating a sustainable traffic culture requires enduring and joint efforts," stated Marija Stavreva, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at OKTA.

Educational workshops in several primary schools aimed at the youngest traffic participants, as well as the implementation of an educational online campaign titled "Where Are You Rushing?" are part of the joint activities that OKTA and RSBSP, with the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will carry out during October and November this year.

"The OKTA platform for raising awareness about road safety is a true example of how we can and should contribute to achieving goals that are in the interest of all citizens and society as a whole, because we are all somehow participants in traffic and desire a reduction in traffic accidents and safer roads. As an institution focused on road safety, we share the same commitments and goals with OKTA, which is also confirmed by our mutual Memorandum of Cooperation," said Gordana Kožuvarovska, President of the National Council for Road Traffic Safety.

Additional activities under the "I WATCH OUT" platform are also planned to be implemented by OKTA in the near future. One of these is the donation of new photovoltaic signs to be installed at pedestrian crossings on several busy roads near primary schools in the city center.

In 2017, OKTA began implementing activities under the "I WATCH OUT" platform, through which the company has since realized various initiatives, donations, and created numerous educational materials to promote higher awareness and understanding of the need to enhance the safety of all traffic participants. That same year, this platform received an award for the best national socially responsible practice.
