OKTA donated medical equipment to the General Hospital in Kumanovo
(Skopje, 27.12.2019) – OKTA made valuable donation of medical equipment to the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the General Hospital in Kumanovo. The donation consists of a sterilizer for gynecological instruments, two infusion pumps intended both for the antenatal and the delivery room as well as gynecological examination couch.With this donation, OKTA continues its socially responsible practice aiming at improving the conditions in the public health.
“Alike the previous years, we continue with our commitment to reallocate the funds intended for New year’s corporate gifts to something more meaningful and with bigger importance for the citizens and the community. I believe that with this donation of a modern medical equipment we will significantly contribute for the improvement of the conditions in the Gynecology Department of the Hospital in Kumanovo. OKTA as a socially responsible company will continue its pledge to give back to the society and provide its support in the segments that are most in need”, said the CEO of OKTA, Ioannis Geroulanos.
The Minister of Health, Dr. Venko Filipche visited the hospital. He pointed out that OKTA’s donation is important step towards improving the public health.
“The gynecological examination couch will be used in the ambulance room where the patients receive first examination in order to be determined if they need to hospitalized for childbirth or future treatment. The second device, that we need it so much in order to deliver professional and clean service, is a sterilizer. The device will replace the old and defective sterilizer in the respective department and it will prevent infections occur. Today the hospital in Kumanovo received two infusion pumps as well. They are installed in the delivery room in order to provide the necessary medications during the childbirth. The new equipment will significantly improve the working conditions and the quality of the health care service in the Department”, stated Filipche.
The donation was conducted in consultation with the global health care and humanitarian organization Project Hope, whose key mission is to improve the functioning of the health systems around the world.
“Big gratitude to OKTA for showing interest to join the PeriMac Program that aims at reducing perinatal mortality in the country through donations of equipment and medical supplies as well as implementing trainings for doctors and nurses. The donated equipment will improve the conditions in the Kumanovo General Hospital in both for the patients and the personnel. For a third consecutive year, Project Hope successfully implements this program in partnership with the Ministry of Health. Up to now, we have significant results in decreasing the perinatal mortality in the two gynecology hospitals in Skopje. We hope to achieve the same success in the hospitals in Kumanovo and Tetovo. Namely, with this donation and in partnership with OKTA, we commence implementing this phase of the project”, said Emilija Dukovski, Manager for Development and Finance at Project Hope.
The donation was conducted in cooperation with the global health care and humanitarian organization Project Hope, whose key mission is to improve the functioning of the health systems around the world. This donation is a continuation of OKTA’s previous activities to support the public health in the country. In the previous years, as part of its “Chance for Life” campaign, the company on various occasions donated incubators and other medical equipment to the Children’s Clinic in Skopje.
