OKTA donates a photovoltaic plant for the kindergarten "Pepelashka" in the Municipality of Centar

Skopje, 23.08.2023 – As part of the company’s activities for marking its 45th jubilee, OKTA donated a photovoltaic power plant to the kindergarten "Pepelashka", located in the Municipality of Centar in Skopje. The new plant with a total installed power of 20.5 kW is placed on the rooftop of the kindergarten, and will enable its energy supply from renewable sources.

As part of our social responsibility strategy, we are focused this year on supporting three educational institutions by donating solar power plants, with the goal of assisting them in overcoming the challenges posed by the energy crisis. The benefits of this donation are numerous, as it will enable the kindergarten to be supplied with clean and renewable energy, contributing to a considerable decrease of electricity spending while also ensuring reduced environmental footprint. In this way OKTA supports the community in its efforts to build a more sustainable future for the future generations." said Risto Janevski, Director of Energy Planning & Development at OKTA, during the official commissioning of the new photovoltaic plant.

With continuous operation, the photovoltaic plant will produce up to 25 MWh of renewable energy annually, which will satisfy a significant part of the electricity needs of the kindergarten.

"We expect that the new photovoltaic power plant will significantly reduce the total electricity costs of the kindergarten, which will allow us to invest more funds in maintaining the high quality of childcare and education services for children. I would like to thank OKTA for their commitment and flawless realization of this particularly important project and at the same time invite the other companies to follow their example and help us in the realization of our plans to achieve greater energy efficiency in all public buildings on the territory of our Municipality. The municipality of Centar has recently established TD "Energija Centar" for the installation of photovoltaic power plants and production and sale of electricity. I believe that such projects will bring a great benefit to the generations to come", said the Mayor of the Municipality of Centar, Goran Gerasimovski.

During this jubilee year of OKTA, the company will donate two more photovoltaic power plants to educational institutions in the country, as well as a solar charger and bicycle parking which will be installed on the campus of UKIM. By the end of the year, OKTA intends to start with realization of the investment for the construction of a new photovoltaic plant with a power of 12 MW that will be installed within the company's installation.
