OKTA is the main sponsor of national basketball in the pre-qualifications for the Olympics 2024 and the qualifications for Eurobasket 2025
Skopje, 18.07.2023 Before the upcoming pre-qualification tournament for a place at the Olympic Games in Paris, OKTA continues its support of the National Basketball Federation as main sponsor. The sponsorship agreement includes support of the men's basketball team in the matches of the qualifying cycle for EuroBasket 2025, which should start in February next year. With the new agreement, OKTA keeps the continuity in this long-term partnership with the basketball federation and confirms the role of a continuous supporter of the national sports selections in their successes on the international sports scene. "We are happy to continue the partnership, and thus we continuously contribute to the efforts of the Basketball Federation to provide better conditions for the men's senior national team in the upcoming sports challenges. We believe that our support will be an additional motive for the seniors in achieving the goal - placement at the 2024 Olympics and successful qualifications in Eurobasket 2025 " - said Vuk Radovic, Chief Executive Officer at OKTA. The agreement to support the senior basketball team begins with the pre-qualification tournament for the Olympic Games in Paris and will last until February 2025 when the European Basketball Championship qualifiers are due to end.
„Our goal is clear - participation of the men's national team at the Olympics in 2024 and EuroBasket 2025. Support, such as this from OKTA, is an additional incentive and allows the players and the professional staff to devote themselves fully and unhindered to their sports part from the job. It is much easier when you have a partner by your side who has been with you for many years and through joint cooperation has proven that he sincerely shares our goals and ambitions. It means a lot to us as an organization and to the players and, I believe, to all basketball and sport fans in the country “- said Pero Antic, President of the Federation. The pre-qualification tournament for the Summer Olympic Games will be held in Tallinn from 12 – 15 August 2023, and the opponents of our national team are the teams of Israel, the hosts from Estonia and the Czech Republic. The two first-placed representatives secure placement in the semi-final phase of the qualifications. The qualifications for the European Championship start in February 2024 and will last until February 2025, and a total of 32 national teams will participate in them, 24 of which will secure a place at the summit of the best basketball teams on the Old Continent.
