OKTA’s donation for a warm youth house of SOS Children village
Skopje, 11.01.2024 - With the donation of 6,000 liters of extra light heating oil, second year in a row, OKTA provided the annual quantity of fuel needed to heat one of the houses of SOS Children's Village, where young people without parental care live.
„We are particularly pleased that second year in a row we have the opportunity to aid in providing a warm home for the youths of SOS Children's Village. With this donation, the total annual heating fuel consumption of the youth center located in Radishani will be met. In this way OKTA continues to fulfill its determination of being responsible participant in the society by improving living conditions for the most vulnerable categories of citizens“ - said Marija Stavreva, Manager of corporate social responsibility in OKTA AD - Skopje.
In the youth houses of SOS Detsko Selo, young people over the age of 14 are taken care of, where this humanitarian organization provides them with 24-hour support, care and assistance, in order to prepare and equip the young people for a completely independent life as well as their further effective integration into society.

At the donation event that took place today at the youth center in Radishani, basketball players Vojdan Stojanovski and Damjan Robev from the national basketball team participated, and mingled with the youth from SOS Children's Village and talked about how to become a successful athlete. The youths received signed basketballs and jerseys, and were invited to attend the upcoming national team matches that will be played in Skopje. OKTA is the main sponsor of the national basketball team in the pre-qualifications for the Olympic Games 2024 and in the qualifications for Eurobasket 2025.
